Should Turkey join european union?

"As soon as it meets the economic and social criteria for joining, I think it should. As a laicist state, there is no reason to exclude a dominantly muslim population from joining predominantly christian Europe. Economically and historically, all the states on the Mediterranean ought to be considered for inclusion if they want it and if they fulfill the requirements. It might lead to greater stability in the region."
