Why do you not accrue salary vacation pay(in terms of fiancial accounting)?

  • "Whoever told you that you do not accrue vacation pay at the end of the fiscal year was lying to you. This is supposed to be done, as well as an accrual for sick time. This usually appears as compensated absences on the financial statement. Some companies include the accrued amount for the above on the accrued wages payable line of the balance sheet. Also the amount you accrue depends upon their personnel policy regarding vacation and sick pay."
